Our vision: “Innovative solutions for a better world” is what we live by. IWMAC should be green, which is why we have a clear environmental commitment – both for ourselves and to help our customers.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals are the guiding principles at IWMAC. They impact everything from our vision to our values and future goals. Not just because we have to, but because we want to.

Sustainability goals

IWMAC follows the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With a focus on the environment, economy and society, we have chosen three sustainability goals that are particularly important to us.

You can read more about how we’re working to achieve these below.

We’re daring to invest in good ideas that enable us to deliver the new, better and forward-looking solutions that our customers are asking for.

This means collaborations such as the IPN project for proactive and data-driven buildings, contributing to increased research efforts (9.5).

The industry-leading IWMAC Ready, with its standardised solutions and data sharing, strengthens national technological development (9.B) and engagement with larger players.

We help to upgrade buildings and properties to create better and more sustainable solutions to ensure a more efficient use of resources (9.4).

Creative thinking and innovation is a priority in our strategy. This was the entire basis for establishing IWMAC with self-developed software in 2001.

To ensure sustainable consumption and production, the focus must be on reducing the use of resources.

With smart and energy-efficient technical facilities, we’re making sure that our customers reduce their environmental emissions and energy use (12.2). Our Smart Guard takes care of this, and we can better use the energy we create with automation like Smart Functions.

The CheckPoint app aims to ensure food safety and avoid food waste, leading to sustainable consumption for our customers.

We continue to look at reuse with a focus on making old buildings smart, and strive to deliver good solutions that pay off.

We know that we can’t achieve these climate goals alone, but we also know that every little helps – and we’re fortunate that many share the same vision as us.

At IWMAC, we’re working every day on creating solutions for the future.

We collaborate and share knowledge about technology and innovation (17.6). It helps to promote the development of sustainable services to our customers and partners.

With the partner programme “IWMAC Certified Partner”, we’re focusing on strong collaboration and partnerships – contributing to our sustainability strategy. We also actively participate in the industry at conferences on topics such as smart cities and solutions for managing technical facilities.

We’re continuing to advance the industry, focusing on increased data sharing, supporting the collection and distribution of reliable data to strengthen collaboration (17.7). This way – as a value chain – we can make a bigger difference than as individual players.

If we are to achieve sustainable development, we need to do more than just talk about it. Here are some of the things we’re working on that are close to our hearts.

Energy efficiency – for greener buildings

In Europe, buildings account for around 40% of total energy consumption. To achieve our climate goals, we must develop solutions that reduce emissions. Whether we’re talking about flashy new buildings or older office spaces, managing technical facilities goes hand in hand with energy efficiency.

Innovation – for the solutions of tomorrow

Innovation, development and better solutions are high on the agenda. Because it is perhaps what we are most proud of as a technology group – the opportunity we have to develop something new or better, and make solutions of the future greener than today’s.

Food waste – for a better value chain

While the food chain accounts for a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions, a third of all food produced is never eaten. Not only is this bad for the planet, but it is just such a waste. With solutions for temperature control, monitoring, hygiene and routine tasks, we’re working to ensure food safety and avoid food waste in several parts of the chain.

Did you know that…

We have helped our customers save over 100,000 tonnes of CO2?

That’s the equivalent of…

the total emissions of over 50,000 cars in one year
